Louise Croft – Sacred Geometry Artist
Award winning artist Louise Croft was born in Singapore of British parents. She was raised and still lives on the Wirral near Liverpool, England.
Louise’s inspiration is firmly rooted in Sacred Geometry. This ancient art, that has been the foundation and backbone to many masterpieces of art and architecture throughout the ages, is now illuminated, highlighted, channelled and decorated in a unique and original way. An undisclosed secret is now being illustrated as never before. Overlooked and hidden and somewhat forgotten, the beauty of Sacred Geometry is brought to life in some thought provoking and innovative ways.
The art, although created in two dimensions shows not only a three dimensional quality but, in some instances, the secrets to a three dimensional plan. All the art is created from itself with no mathematical workings of measure or angle and, being a purist, not a computer in sight!
Working with these principles, Louise presents her work in two ways; Out of the Void and Into the Light.
Out of the Void – these are large pieces (1.5m by 1.5m) with ultraviolet paint on heavy black theatrical drapery. The paint is worked whilst in a malleable state to create an intricate fusion of effervescent colours in Louise’s own inimitable style into a framework of pleasing mathematical proportion. These pieces serve as Louise’s installation work where the viewer perceives to be in the void and is taken out of time and space to a world where the senses are renewed and refreshed.
The gallery space is first of all blacked out and the art is hung around the space with each centre being at eye height, then ultraviolet light activates the paint giving vibrant life to the shapes and forms that float and hang in the space around; each piece exploiting its own trans-dimensional properties and going some way to decoding the ancient mystery of Sacred Geometry and its origins in the void.
Into the Light – these are usually acrylic on canvas, where Louise has used the principles of Sacred Geometry combined with meditation, to produce elaborately decorative pieces that have been described as ‘Jewellery for the Wall’. Other pieces like her inspirational ‘Between Worlds’ has wonderful three dimensional textures and composition combined with an overwhelming spiritual presence, befitting of Louise’s own spirituality. She compliments her range of canvases with very desirable bespoke and stylish pieces that include spirals and circular designs, some of which are intimately related to the pleasing Golden Section.
Louise is illustrating to us what is said to be ‘The Blueprint to Creation’. A fact that has much evidence to back up its claim. Yet, it is not only the underlying message which is beautiful, but the way in which it is so eloquently interpreted, that lightens the soul and warms the heart.
